Creamy Overnight Oats with Chia for Busy Mornings

Breakfast that waits for you

Some mornings just don't have room for cooking. That's where overnight oats come in: a five-minute prep the night before, and breakfast is ready and waiting in the fridge when you wake up. Creamy, nourishing and endlessly customisable, they're the little bit of calm your busy week needs.

The base

You can make creamy overnight oats with chia seeds by combining rolled oats, chia seeds, milk, and your favourite flavourings in a jar and letting them soak in the fridge.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled oats (old-fashioned)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • ½ cup milk (your choice of milk)
  • ⅓ cup Greek yogurt (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • A splash of vanilla extract or a pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Simply combine everything in a jar, give it a good stir, pop the lid on and let it soak in the fridge overnight.

Add your toppings

From fruits (mango, strawberries, blueberry and more). If using frozen fruit, you can add that straight away and it'll defrost in the fridge. Fresh fruit is best added the morning of. The same goes for any nuts or granola, so they keep their crunch.

You can also mix through peanut butter, or get creative and find your perfect go-to combo. A spoonful of jam, a drizzle of chocolate, a sprinkle of coconut. Make it yours.

A little tip

Make a couple of jars at once so you've got breakfast sorted for a few days. They'll keep beautifully for up to three days in the fridge.
